About Us

The Oneida Housing Authority was established in 1963 and has been funded by the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) which is 100% grant funded.  The Housing Act of 1937 was developed to provide subsidies to improve living conditions for low-income families.  The Act set very low maximum income requirements for housing residents.  The Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA) reorganized the system of housing assistance provided to Native Americans through HUD by eliminating several separate programs of assistance and replacing them with a block grant program.  NAHASDA has provided our program to generate our own operational rules and procedure and to design our own homes to serve the Oneida membership.

On October 2017 our organization changed from Oneida Housing Authority to Comprehensive Housing Division.  We combined Elder Service Apartments; Land Management rentals, land leasing, and loan programs; with Oneida Housing Authority income-based housing.  The purpose is to provide a one stop shop for your housing need.  We have one application that is used for different housing rental opportunities.
