Oneida Market will not be reopening

By Phil Wisneski

It is with a heavy heart to report the Oneida Market will not be reopening. This decision was not an easy one, but with rising costs to operate the store, lack of staff, decrease in foot traffic, and change in customer buying habits, the difficult decision was made to permanently close the Oneida Market. The staff of the market have already transitioned to other positions within Oneida Retail.

Retail recognizes this decision impacts loyal customers, but we hope to mitigate the closure by having many of their best-selling products at four One Stop locations.

Many products are currently available at our Larsen location (corner of Larsen/Packerland) and will be expanded Hwy 54, E&EE and Packerland (corner of Packerland/Waube). A date has not been determined to when the products will be available at the new locations, but watch for an announcement in the Kalihwisaks, Update Oneida and the Oneida One Stop’s Facebook page.

Discussions are under way on how to use the Market space, but no decisions have been made at this time. As part of the Market closure, the public is invited to attend a special sale at the market on Aug 18 from 12pm to 6pm and all items will be 50% off.

We thank you for your previous support of the Oneida Market and hope you can understand the difficult decision to close.
